During April, this Czech producer of design lighting fixtures took part in as many as two important world exhibitions. The first, Mosbuild, was held in Moscow, the second one, Light & Building, in Frankfurt. At both exhibitions, Preciosa presented its new collection of design lighting fixtures under the name Lightness. The common feature characterizing this new 2012 collection is lightness. Not only the lightness with which the crystal creations are hovering above our heads like ethereal beings, but also the lightness of thought that makes Preciosa designers’ flight of imagination almost boundless.

The designers of the lighting fixtures and objects included in the collection are, in addition to Preciosa’s chief designer Mr. Jaroslav Bejvl Jr., also Mr. Radek Fiala, Ms. Lucie Sokolova, Ms. Martina Strelkova, Ms. Petra Schierova, Ms.Veronika Kopecna, Ms. Petra Krcalova and Mr. Jozef Baca. Visitors to Preciosa’s exhibition stands could admire the colorful display of a variety of crystal objects in a number of sizes and shapes, all produced using up-to-date glassmaking technologies and equipped with manifold light sources. For these April exhibitions, Preciosa prepared, however, not only lighting fixtures; in the designers’ studio, admirable designs of glass sculptures were also created, our experienced and skillful craftsmen endowing these forms with graceful shapes.
